Pensions
New options, new choices.
When we started Mulberry Financial in 2007, pensions were a dirty word.
I was often asked "do people still bother with pensions?" Mis-selling scandals, the Robert Maxwell pension fraud and unrealistic pension projections had put people off the idea of a private pension. Even company pensions were regarded with suspicion. Gradually, confidence has returned - partly helped by various protective measures provided by regulation.
One problem that remains with pensions is their complexity and the fact that the rules are continually being changed. That's where we come in...
The pension flexibilities introduced by George Osborne in April 2015 were, in my opinion, a great innovation and have made pension savings a lot more attractive and accessible for the average man in the street.
However, the new options need to be explained, and ideally you should put a plan in place to make the most of the various options to maximise your retirement savings.
We can assess all of your old preserved occupational and personal pensions and let you know the best course of action.
