Olympic excitement.
11/06/2012
The Olympics will be starting soon and we had the excitement of seeing the torch pass right outside our house. I also got to see it at close quarters due to a friend, former Paralympian Linda Roche, being selected as one of the torch bearers. Well done Linda!

I read today that some British triathletes missed out on a place at the games due to selection processes designed to maximise the medal chances for other team members - choosing a 'pacemaker' for the top athletes rather than someone who would compete for their own benefit.
In an individual sport it seems unfair that there should be team orders purely to maximise the chances of medals for Team GB. It goes against the spirit of the Games and highlights the unbelievable importance placed on victory in modern sport.
There are some parallels with financial services. We try to run a successful and profitable business, but we also follow our own code of ethics which means that we do not put company profits above the best interests of our customers.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for many financial institutions. Give Mulberry Financial a try if you would like to talk to someone about your finances, without the hard sell.
