Pensions? What Pensions?

26/05/2009

More depressing news for me as a pension adviser.
A survey of 1,358 people commissioned by the BBC found that half of those aged between 20 and 60 are making no pension savings at all. Two thirds of the under 30's, and nearly half of those aged 40 to 60 were not paying into a pension. Sadly, half of those who took part were still confident that they would be able to live comfortably in retirement. People cited a disilllusionment with the financial system as one reason for their lack of interest in making provision for retirement.
I suspect that they will be considerably more disillusioned in a few years time when they reach their retirement age, and finally get around to working out what they are going to live on for the next 25-30 years. Don't bury your head in the sand - come and speak to Mulberry Financial about making some real plans for your retirement.
